Mary Art is an original illustration by AKA Clothe, inspired by the world of abstract expressionism, an artistic movement that emerged in the USA after the Second World War.
Abstract expressionism was the first artistic movement in the USA, through which artists experimented with a new form of painting, expressing themselves mainly through gesture, colour and material.
There were two main currents: action painting and colourfield, with talented painters such as Jackson Pollock, Cy Twombly, Mark Rothko, Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner and Franz Kline.
This movement was also a way of exalting American artistic culture, emphasising the absolute freedom of the artist, and was partly funded by the CIA to exalt American culture.
